TAKE THE BASIC RATE FOR YOUR AREA. TAKE THE PER KILO RATE AND TIMES IT BY THE NUMBER OF KILOS AND THEN ADD THE TWO TOGETHER. THIS SHOULD GIVE YOU AN ESTIMATE (PLEASE ADD 10% FOR GST)
THERE IS ALSO A $2.50 HANDLING CHARGE.
EXPRESS POST: AS OF MARCH 13, 2009 A $5.00 FEE FOR EXPRESS POST PARCELS WILL INCUR IF YOU WISH TO BE "BUMP UP" TO THE TOP OF THE PILE.
IF YOU STILL WISH THE ORDER TO GO EXPRESS AND ARE HAPPY FOR IT TO GO BACK INTO THE CUE, PLEASE NOTE THIS IN SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS AND NO EXPRESS POST FEE WILL APPLY. IF NO NOTATION IS THERE WE WILL SHIP EXPRESS POST AND CHARGE THE ADDITIONAL FEE.

All prices are in Australian dollar and we do not charge for any item that is out of stock. We no longer place items on back orders.
Postage: We are now on Post eParcel, Australia Post's Internet enabled freight system. According to Australia Post it is cheaper. Each parcel carries a bar coded address label, which is scanned at several points during the delivery process.
Each state has different rates. We must take a box, put your goods in it, measure & weigh it up and by your post code determine which area you live in and go by the chart. There is a basic rate, plus a per kilo rate. We do not send any packages without a tracking number. This is for your protection as well as ours, as in the past packages went missing.
Why don't we have set rates: Let's say a person orders candy which weighs 2 kilos and someone orders soda which weighs 10 kilos. If I were to set a rate per box than the box weighing 2 kilos would be paying the same as a box that was 10 kilos? Doesn't seem fair - does it. Our goal is to charge you the same thing as Australia post charges us. When you order online, we use the formula used to calculate Australia Post charges to estimate how much the shipping will cost. Postage is an estimate as we still have to add in teh weight of the box and packing materials The actual shipping cost may vary. The postage cost that is quoted is for Australia only and for regular mail service - it does not include express post or orders shipped to New Zealand. You agree to pay the amount Australia post charges us. Parcels can be sent express post, see below for details. You can also arrange your own courier if you like, just note that in special instructions and we will send you an email or call when it is ready to pick up. You can then arrange the courier to pick up.
Express Post- will be more expensive than normal post. We will charge you the same amount the post charges us. The web is now set up to calculate express post rates. You still can check Australia Post website to see the rates - justfollow the prompts
- Once in the hands of the post USA Foods cannot be held responsible if the parcel doesn't arrive with their specified express post delivery schedule. We will file a complaint on your behalf and try to obtain a refund for you
- Express parcels can not be insured
- Express post parcels as of march 13, 2009 will incur a $5.00 express post fee. We will ship them the same or next day (if possible) and in order to be fair to everyone who placed an order before yours we have added this charge. If you wish for the item to go express, but are happy to wait we will put it back in order received and not charge the $5.00 express fee. Please note this in special instructions.
- Express parcels can be left at the door if you like. If not home it should go back to the local post office for pickup
- There are some areas that are not covered by the express post network. Please check the Australia Post website to make sure that your post code is listed for express post service.
How we wrap & damaged parcels: We wrap our cans in newspaper. We wrap our glass in bubble wrap and newspaper. The boxes leave our store in excellent condition, we do not send damaged goods. Cans may be dented by Australia Post's rough handling, jars can break and some items do not travel well no matter how good we pack them (ie. pickles,Franks large, Keebler crusts). Once the goods are given to Australia Post no compensation can be made for lost, stolen or damaged goods made unless the insurance box is ticked when you checkout. Please contact us to assist you with your claim against Australia Post. Please do not toss the items out - you will need to show them proof of damage for your claim.
Australia Post delivery: Australia Post delivers your parcels. They work to their own schedule. We cannot ask them to bring your parcel on a certain day or at a certain time. If you are not home they should leave a card that they attempted delivery. The card should indicate which local post office the parcel was left out for pickup. Please take the card with you.
You can waive your signature and have the parcel left at your home by putting a note in special instructions. We will indicate that on the mailing label and the post will have the authority to leave it. Once this is done and anything happens to the parcel all liability on the part of the post & USA Foods is waived. You cannot insure the parcel if you wish to do this as insured parcels need to be signed for.
Insurance: As always the post will have the final say, but it is now $1.50 for every $100.00 spent per box - coverage includes the damaged item and any damage as a result. You will need to prove your claim, by taking photos, or possibly taking the box down to the post to show them. USA Foods will file the claim on your behalf, but until the claim is settled by the post no compensation will be made. Parcels that are lost will also be included if insured it is up to you to tick the insurance box to have coverage - if you do not take out insurance and any damage occurs or the parcel is lost by Australia post than USA Foods cannot make a claim on your behalf and no compensation will be paid. Please note that we take no responsibility for any lost, stolen or damaged parcels once it is in the hands of the post.
Missing or lost parcels: With the new web site we have added a tracking number system - once we process the order a tracking number will be emailed to the address on your order form. If your package does not arrive within a reasonable time frame (7 working days after shipping) please contact the post office in your area. Chances are they left a card and it is sitting there. If it is not there than please contact us at 03-9555-0288 for the eParcel number. The delivery status can then be checked via the Internet at www.eparcel.com.au or you can quote that number to the post office so they can track the package and after a few days of shipping you can check the delivery status etc. A claim will be entered into the Australia Post system, but if the parcel is not insured compensation will not be given. USA Foods can assist you in doing this.
New Zealand orders: please go to the Australia Post website and select New Zealand from the 'Select Country' menu. You need to enter the weight of your order and this will give you the postage to send overseas. The checkout page will tell you your order's approx. weight. No insurance is available for NZ orders. Once this parcel is shipped we can not track it with Australia Post and if the parcel is damaged, lost or stolen USA foods can not assist you in this event. We also suggest you check with customs and quarantine to make sure the products will be allowed in as once we ship we cannot take the product back because they would not let it in.
